“Good artists copy, great artists steal” – Pablo Picaso. What is authentic?Does it matter? This object is about my stance in authorship and how I ‘copied & pasted’ from various sources to create my own unique piece.

From my point of view if I were to create something new, I need to either innovate through material, form, technique or ideas. I placed a particular focus on cardboard, an unauthentic everyday material and the idea of skeuomorphism. A design style that uses visual cues to imitate the shape, texture, or function of physical objects.

The end object was a centrepiece designed to provoke conversation around it during a lunch / dinner.
